ART WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
August 2021 - April 2022
ZOOM ONLINE WORKSHOP -
PORTRAITURE IN WATERCOLOURS WITH ANN CLARKE
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 October, 10am - 3pm
In this two day online workshop using Zoom, the proportions of the face will be explored before working from your own or a provided colour image which you have printed on A4 photocopy paper. First, you will be shown how to get a likeness of your subject with a pencil contour drawing. Then, with the translucent and sensitive medium of watercolour, you will use transparent layers of paint to build up your portrait, to achieve a painting with depth and vitality.
The workshop will be interactive and involve demonstrations of the drawing and painting process with painting time for the participants in between the demonstrations. There will be plenty of time for questions and progressive reviews of each participant’s work with guidance from the tutor.
Some watercolour experience is preferred but not essential. Participants will need to provide their own drawing and watercolour equipment, and allow the artist to contact them directly by email prior to the workshop with a Materials List, other information about the workshop, image/s to print out and paint from, and the Zoom links for each day.
You will need a computer or tablet to access the workshop, plus a mobile smart phone to share clear photos of your work for guidance. When booking this workshop please make a separate booking for each person, providing the name and email address for each participant. Cost: $80 / $70 Friends of the Gallery (+ GST & booking fee)
