This exciting workshop teaches various ways of transforming found objects using soft sculpture techniques. Anita Johnson Larkin will share her methods of felting around an object (or part thereof) as well as different ways of stitching, wrapping, and mending your objects to create poetic narrative sculptures. BYO: participates to bring two small found objects and one soft toy, needle and thread, pins and fabric scissors. All other materials supplied

Learn the basics of traditional Chinese ink brush painting, using simple but expressive brush strokes on rice paper to create beautiful Chinese paintings of fish in workshop 1 and fruit and vegetables in workshop 2. This elegant brush writing technique is taught in a way that is easy to understand, enjoyable and relaxing. On completion of this workshop participants should be able to comprehend the use of materials and equiipment, master the essential brush strokes and composition, and construct simple Chinese paintings. Learn how to paint a bird portrait with personality, and life in this 2 day workshop. Working from your own or provided A4 size images, you will be guided in producing an expressive pencil contour drawing to get an accurate likeness and will be taught how to apply various watercolour techniques to echo the jewel-like colours and forms of these beautiful creatures. Suitable for beginners or experienced artists wanting to enhance their knowledge of watercolour techniques. All materials supplied.
