SENIORS WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOPS FOR BEGINNERS

Learn simple watercolour techniques and view a display of watercolours from the Gallery collection in the Education Room. Afternoon tea provided. Cost free. All materials supplied. FLOWER PASTEL WORKSHOP with Elspeth McCombe Saturday 1 May & Sunday 2 May, 12 - 4pm Respond to the Bloomin’ Art exhibition by capturing the beauty of flowers from life. Participants will learn a variety of techniques using pastels and pastel pencils to produce a floral still life. Suitable for experienced or beginners. All materials supplied

SOFT SCULPTURE WORKSHOP with Anita Johnson Larkin
Saturday 12 June & Sunday 13 June, 12.00 - 4.00pm
This exciting workshop teaches various ways of transforming found objects using soft sculpture techniques. Anita Johnson Larkin will share her methods of felting around an object (or part of) as well as different ways of stitching, wrapping, and mending your objects to create poetic narrative sculptures. Participants to bring two small found objects, one soft toy, needle & thread, pins and fabric scissors. All other materials supplied.

CHINESE PAINTING WORKSHOPS with Dr Fan Dongwang
Saturday 3 July (Painting Fish) 12.00 - 4.00pm: Sunday 4 July (Painting Fruit and Vegetable) 12.00 - 4.00pm
Learn the basics of traditional Chinese ink brush painting, using simple but expressive brush strokes on rice paper to create paintings of fish in workshop one and fruit/ vegetables in workshop two. On completion participants should be able to comprehend the use of materials and equipment, master the essential brush strokes and composition and construct simple Chinese painting. All materials supplied Each Workshop.
