Postcodes from the Edge

An art prize and exhibition featuring small format contemporary art works open to artists living within the postcode boundaries of 2508 in the north, 2534 in the south and 2576 in the west. Subject matter must reflect the Illawarra region (people, local sites, landscape etc.). Strict format 2 dimensional works must be 30.5 x 40.6cm (12" x 16" including frame). 

Postcodes will return again in 2024.

Bus trip to the Highlands

Thursday 8 September, departing Art Gallery at 8.30am returning approx 4.30pm
Join the WAG Friends as we visit the Highlands: 

Sturt Gallery Mittagong: With its purpose-built exhibition space and contemporary design retail space, Sturt Gallery showcases the best of Australian contemporary art and design. Morning Tea 

Ngununggula Regional Gallery Bowral: Ngununggula, meaning 'belonging' in the traditional language of the Gundungurra First Nations people, is the first regional art gallery in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Short walk to lunch at Moonacre Café. 

Retford Park National Trust Bowral: The house at Retford Park (designed by Albert Bond) is set on a low rise, a grand rendered brick Italianate style residence. It was in 1964 that James Fairfax bought the property and started to turn it from an agricultural property to a gentleman’s residence. House & Garden tour.

A new initiative of WAG Friends that encourages individuals and businesses to support the important work of conserving WAG's art Collection.  This program works on a star support system (1 star $1000 1 artwork, 2 stars $2000 2 artworks, 3 stars $3000 3 artworks).  Each level of support comes with incentives.   Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury AM is the patron of Art Care.   All donations are tax deductible.
